Book Reviews

I haven't posted here in a while. I've come to love author Rob Thurman. Her Cal Leandros series has the best humor (both toilet and deadpan) that I've read. If you like badass at its best, read them. She's (yep, that's right. Rob is a woman) also the author of the Chimera series. The book is old (she wrote it first but couldn't get published, then changed the premise and it became Cal Leandros). I'm reading the second book right now, Basilisk. Fatastic so far.

The Ashburn Connection says Daywalker is, "...a book that bucks convention and provides a distinctive read..."

I recently came across Rachel Caines' Morganville Vampire series. I'd been reading her Weather Warden sereis for years and enjoyed it so when I saw the Morganville Vampires series, I decided to try it, even though it's a young adult sereis. It's good, with lots of suspense. Every book so far has ended with a cliffhanger. I've really enjoyed reading it.

Patricia Briggs' Cry Wolf is a great book, but the first chapter threw me off. She doesn't explain how Charles learned of Anna and her plight or the events that led him to kill her Alpha to claim her as his mate. She also doesn't explain what being an Omega wolf is until far into the book. I still love it and give it a 9.5 of 10.
